Margit Dahm

Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of German Studies, Winter 2025

Margit Dahm is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of German Studies in Winter term 2025. She studied German Studies, History, and Public Law at Kiel University (M.A. 2013) and earned her Ph.D. from the University of Münster in 2017. She is currently an Assistant Professor of German literature of the High and Late Middle Ages at Kiel University. Her research interests center on the medieval German literature of the 12th to the 15th century. One focus of her research is the materiality and mediality of medieval literature, in particular she works on the role of medieval scribes and leads a research project on colophons in medieval German-language manuscripts. Her current book project explores city descriptions and urban discourses in German medieval literature. Her further areas of interest include the medieval reception of Antiquity, historical narratology, and digital humanities. She is a member of the ROOTS Cluster of Excellence at Kiel University.
