Winlade's research interests seek to explore the comparative intersection between various Francophone literary contexts and cultural productions in dialogue with theories of negritude, Panafricanism, postcolonialism, and Felwin Sarr’s Afrotopia to examine various themes such as neocolonialism, subversion of power dynamics, and transnational/transcultural/transglobal cultural identities in African and diaspora African writings.
