Slavic Department Hosts Cultural Forces Panel Session
On November 14, the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures hosted a panel session featuring members of , a cultural arm of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during their 2nd music tour of gratitude to America. Mykolai Sierga (poet, musician, and presenter) talked about the Cultural Forces' mission and the experiences the artists, who were professional musicians before the war and are now active-duty solders, have had since joining the forces and working on the frontline.
We heard music played live by Taras Stoliar (bandura player), Olha Rukavishnikova (violinist), and Sasha Boole (Ukrainian country music singer). The panelists later performed in èצӰÏñ's White Plaza, as part of a 60-day-long tour across the Southeast, South, and West Coast states to thank the American people for their thoughts and action for Ukraine at war.
