We are delighted to announce the first of Renaissances' professionalization series, "Publishing the Pandemic."

Join us on Monday, November 14 at 4:30 in the Terrace Room (fourth floor of Building 460) as we welcome Barbara Fuchs (UCLA, Departments of English and Spanish and Portuguese) to discuss her most recent monograph, Theater of Lockdown: Digital and Distanced Performance in a Time of Pandemic (Methuen, 2022).

The text explores the formal qualities and epistemological implications of theater transformed by the COVID–19 pandemic. Drawing from Professor Fuchs' research, her insight as a former President of the Modern Language Association, and her experience as an editor of Renaissance Quarterly, "Publishing the Pandemic" will consider writing and publishing in a pandemic landscape.

A happy hour with light refreshments will precede the discussion and a Q&A will follow. RSVP .
