‘Popular Men’ and Troubled Representation in England’s Roman Republic.

Renaissances is thrilled to announce its first event of the academic year!

Join us in the Terrace Room on Thursday, September 26, at 4:30 p.m. as we host Professor Rhodri Lewis (English, Princeton) in conversation with Benjamin Gee (English, èצӰ) for the fall iteration of the Graduate Research Series.

This event pairs Ben’s dissertation chapter, "'Popular Men’ and Troubled Representation in England’s Roman Republic,” with Professor Lewis’s recent work on Shakespearean tragedy. Our speakers will introduce their research, discuss their (pre-circulated) draft materials, and share responses to one another’s texts. Renaissances coordinators will then moderate audience discussionand Q&A. Refreshments will be served.
