Marxisms Reading Group - Winter Quarter 2025 Week 3 Meeting
Join us for the first Winter Quarter 2025 meeting of Marxisms,Ìýa bi-weekly DLCL reading group.Ìý
Marxisms is dedicated to reading and discussing Marxist thought and Marxist approaches to aesthetics from a variety of times and places. Our focus is on how Marxist thought has both influenced and been critiqued by writers from the times and places which our members study.Ìý
Anyone with an interest in Marxisms is welcome (and encouraged!) to join.
After completing Michael Heinrich'sÌýIntroduction to the Three Volumes of CapitalÌýlast quarter, we will now be switching to putting texts by Marxists in dialogue with Marx's own writings. On Tuesday of Week 3 in Winter Quarter 2025, we'll focus on the Marxist concept of Primitive (or Original) Accumulation, and on Silvia Federici's reading of the implications of this concept for feminist Marxisms. We'll read the Introduction toÌýCaliban and the Witch, as well as the section on the first volume of Capital on Original Accumulation.
