Marxisms Reading Group: Michael Heinrich Reading Session
Join us for the second meeting ofÌýMarxisms, a bi-weekly DLCL reading group.Ìý
This will be a double session. Feel free to join just either one or both events!
- 3:30 - 4:30 pm in the Slavic Library (Bldg. 240, Rm 111): We will first meet to finish discussing chapter 3 of Michael Heinrich'sÌýÌý(pp. 62-79).
- 5:00 - 6:30 pm in Pigott Hall, Bldg. 260, Rm 252: We will joinÌýmateria's reading session right afterwards, where we will have a guided discussion on sugar production and labor-power in dialogue with the new subfield of Energy Humanities. We suggest focusing on the Introduction to the Energy Humanities anthology, but feel free to read as much as you like! There will be a brief presentation of all texts included.

Marxisms is dedicated to reading and discussing Marxist thought and Marxist approaches to aesthetics from a variety of times and places. Our focus is on how Marxist thought has both influenced and been critiqued by writers from the times and places which our members study. Anyone with an interest inÌýMarxismsÌýis welcome (and encouraged) to join.
Ìýis a DLCL Focal Group dedicated to anthropodecentrisms, Latin Americanist and otherwise.
