Gelber, Professor of
German and Comparative Literature, Ben-Gurion
University, Beer-Sheva,
Israel. He was elected to membership in
the German Academy of Language
and Literature (Darmstadt) and has
held visiting professorships at the
University of Pennsylvania
and the University of Graz. Dr. Gelber is an
Alexander von
Humboldt Research Fellow at the Free University in Berlin
and his
major areas of research include literary anti-Semitism, cultural
Zionism, exile literature, and the literary and cultural legacy of
central European Jewry.
