discussion of the place of graduate
education and
academics in our society. Cassuto writes a monthly column for
the Chronicle of Higher Education called “The
Graduate Adviser,” and is
currently writing a
book about the state of American graduate education.He
also teaches at Fordham University and is the author or editor of
seven
books, including The Cambridge History of the
American Novel (2011) and
Hard-Boiled Sentimentality:
The Secret History of American Crime Stories
(2009).
