Lecture by Hannes Stein: 'Watershed: German Responses to the 1991 Gulf War'

Hannes Stein was born in 1965 in Munich, grew up in Salzburg, Austria and studies English literature in Hamburg. He worked as a journalist for "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" and "Der Spiegel", was on the editorial board of "Die Welt" and then moved to New York City while continuing to write primarily for "Die Welt". He is the author of several non-academic books: "Moses and the Revelation of Democracy" (1998), "Hannes Stein's Easy Way to Stop Thinking" (2004), and "The Torures of Everyday Life: An Encyclopedia" (2006). In 2008, "How to Be Always Right" will be published, and he is currently writing a book about America.
