America, and the United States in particular, have been a lifelong passion of German filmmaker Wim Wenders. "Alice in the Cities" is a road movie about an unusual friendship that uses German and American scenery to depict the inner landscapes of the protagonists. Wenders is reflecting here on the American influence on German culture and human relations in the Western world.
