Nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 2007, Ulrich Seidl's "Import/Export" explores the pains of foreign labor between Eastern and Western Europe. The Ukrainian nurse Olga travels to Austria to work as a housekeeper, while the Austrian Pauli - after losing his job - is trying to make a living in Ukraine. With the precision of Ed Lachman's camera work and Seidl's merciless look on human exploitation, "Import/Export" offers an important perspective on labor conditions in Europe.
