Clayton Eshleman's most recent
works include a collection of essays,
Archaic Design
(2007), and a highly praised work of translation, The
Complete Poetry of César Vallejo (2006). He is the author of
numerous
books of poetry, has translated widely from
French and Spanish
(including Vallejo, Aimé Césaire
and Antonin Artaud), and he is the
founding editor of
two groundbreaking literary journals, Caterpillar
and
Sulfur. He is Professor Emeritus at Eastern Michigan University.
