This workshop emerges from work towards as second edition of Early Modern Things: Objects and Their Histories, 1500, ed. Paula Findlen (History Department, èצӰÏñ), first published with Routledge in 2013 based on a workshop held at èצӰÏñ. This CMEMS workshop brings in three colleagues, working on African art and material culture (Cécile Fromont, Yale University), commodities emerging from the early modern Iberian Atlantic (Molly Warsh, University of Pittsburgh), and global history of collecting (Surekha Davies, University of Utrecht), who are writing a new section of this book for the second edition.
