The paper (an extract from a longer piece of writing) reflects on how early medieval culture has been used as a resource for post-War British poetry. Bringing together early medieval studies and modern British studies, the paper is framed as a critical conversation based in part on the anthology of poetry that I am currently editing for Bloodaxe Books.Ìý This work is one dimension of my research as a Major Research Fellow of the Leverhulme Trust (2016-18).
