You are invited to a taping of the nationally-syndicated radio program and podcast . On Wednesday May 3 at 7:00 pm at the èצӰ Humanities Center, join hosts Josh Landy and Ray Briggs along with their special guest, , Professor of Human Geography and founding Co-Director of the Centre for GeoHumanities at Royal Holloway, University of London, as they record an episode asking “Can Art Save Us?”
The world is facing an unprecedented environmental crisis, and we urgently need good ways to address it. Courageous politicians would help, of course, as might scientific innovations. But how much of the problem is a failure of imagination? Could the arts help us see our way out of the problem? How can literature, painting, and movies redraw the landscape in our minds?
In addition to thought-provoking conversation and audience questions, the show will feature multimedia reporting from Roving Philosophical Reporter Holly J. McDede and satirical commentary from Ian Shoales, the Sixty-Second Philosopher.
This event is free and open to the public.
