We are delighted to celebrate The Cambridge Companion to Narrative Theory (Cambridge UP, 2018). This topical collections revisits foundational theories of narrative, in light of new paradigms and media. Its inclusive account argues for the importance of narrative theory as a matrix for understanding all kinds of cultural production: from literary texts to historiography, from films and videogames to philosophical discourse.
We look forward to welcoming Matthew Garret, collection editor and author of the chapter “Philosophies of History” together with David Kurnick, author of the chapter “Pleasure”; Valerie Rohy, author of the chapter “Queer Narrative Theory”; and Amy C. Tang, author of the chapter “Breaks, Borders, Utopia: Race and Critical Narrative Poetics."
