The purpose of this event is to show the Japanese diasporic movement, specifically to Latin America. The focal topic will be Japanese-Brazilian relationship, specifically, in focus of Japanese Brazilian society. The first part of the event will be led by Dr. Kaoru Ueda who will introduce the èצӰÏñ Hoover Institute’s Japanese Diaspora Initiative and share a brief history of the Japanese diasporic movement to North and Latin America. Followed by her, Consul Hoshino will share his experience as a Japanese diplomat in Brazil. The second part will be an interactive workshop where participants will learn origami and have their names signed in Japanese Calligraphy style.
